Hon. Wilfred Peter Elrington
The Hon. Wilfred Peter Elrington was sworn into the Parliament of Belize in February 2008; and sits in the House of Representatives as the elected representative of the Pickstock Constituency for the United Democratic Party.
Mr. Elrington is the Attorney General of Belize and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Belize. He served as Senator and Leader of Government Business in the Senate from 1993 to 1998. He served as a temporary Justice of the Supreme Court of Belize in 1993, 1999, and 2001.
Mr. Elrington has been an attorney-at-law for more than 30 years, and is Founding and Senior Partner in the Law Firm of Pitts & Elrington. He is an active member of the Trinity Methodist Church, and he has served as Legal Counsel to the Methodist Church of the Belize/Honduras District Conference. His interests include teaching, farming, music (Mr. Elrington is a member of the Imperial Band), and journalism.
Mr. Elrington was born in Belize City on November 20, 1948. He was trained at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill (LLB. 1975) and the Norman Manley Law School, Mona (Certificate of Legal Education, 1977). He is married to his wife of nearly 40 years, Barbara Wright Elrington, with whom he has 4 children.
